The Classic Silog

The WWII Silog

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of rice, cooked
  • 1 small garlic, chopped or minced
  • 1 tomato, sliced(optional)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced(optional)
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • 4 eggs
  • garnish
  • olive oil for frying

Sides:

  • Tapa
  • Longanisa
  • Tocino
  • Chicken

Dippings:

  • spicy vinegar
  • soy sauce 
  • Ketsup

Preparations:

1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in garlic until cooked light brown.
2. Add cooked rice and stir well with the garlic.
3. Remove from the pan and set aside 4 cups of rice in plates.
4. Heat 1 tbsp oil in the same skillet over medium heat.
5. Fry the 4 eggs sunny side up.
6. Carefully place each egg on top of the garnished rice.
7. Serve with a cup of hot coffee or orange juice.
